Chanel No Label 5....

As much as Chanel No 5 is flattering to women, Label 5 whisky isn't.... The new campaign that is hitting the billboards is truly blasphemous to women and casts them in the role of creatures will little or not virtue. One billboard features a man - the kind of middle aged investor with a woman on his side and the line: I know she's after my money. Another sees a woman kissing a man with the saying "I don't even know his name." The third is the face of a female and the heading "Plastic surgery made me gorgeous." Whereas there is little doubt that Whisky ads are generally geared towards men as a core audience, there is no need to actually humiliate women in the process....

I saw all of them yesterday, and they disgust me... is it really that hard to come up with something non-sexist?!?

Btw, do you know which advertising company made these?

They are beyond offensive. I'd also be interested to know the company behind the ads.

Joana the Alfa ad is silly if you ask me! It has nothing to do with the content of the message!.... So no idea of how to explain it! Tarek

I think sexism is such an easy theme for propaganda, but if the advertising company that did these would have created some other umm 'theme' I'm they could have even been able to extend their product to more people

(I apologize for my bad english)

I enjoyed the ads a lot. I didnt find them sexist at all...I am a woman and I didnt find them demeaning. Gold diggers exist, women with sugar daddies exist, and women who go for plastic surgery are abundant in Lebanon precisely...the ads didnt demean them, on the contrary, the theme of the ads was to LIVE YOUR WAY. To be who you want to be and not give a damn if society condones you or judges you. I saw some harsh and judgemental comments here...I didnt understand what they were directed at!!!

I saw all of them and I really don't find them in any way offensive or sexist ! Nicolien and Nadia please explain your opinion ? I agree with Ghida-K !

Yes please explain !!
these ads understood the spirit of this country.
what about the ad showing a guy crying saying "I never hide my feelins", how is that sexist or disgusting?
I think you guys should try to undesrtand the real messages of ads and not take them literally. No offence, but when I read your messages I fear for the country, because you are in complete denial of what's really happening in the Lebanese society. Thanks to the company which made these ads. They are great.

Dear Nadia & Nicolien,

I'd like to draw your attention on the fact that this campaign is totally non-sexist yet on the contrary, it shows women completely in controle of their lifes, they use men for the money, have plastic surgery with pride and make out with men they might not see the next day..
So before attacking the ad agency which by the way in an excellent one, i'd like you to try and understand a message before posting shallow comments that prove you wrong.
Ghida, Rona & Amal thank you for posting such valuable comments, you're spot on!
Label5 is completly in sinc with our society and the baseline LIVE YOUR WAY is very insighful when it comes to Lebanon.
Thank you ladies

Mary: for the ones who wanna know the Ad Agency of LABEL 5: it is M&C Saatchi at +961 1 204060

Advertising is an art & a mission which aim should be constructive for the society. We can't deny that this idea is clever but it is misleading. Is "LIVING YOUR WAY" always right? then drugs can also be tolerated, even encouraged by such ads.

In my opinion, respecting others as well, that this ad underestimates Women & Values. Alcohol makes one feel happy & delighted but not till losing control... Thanks.
