Civic campaign on the walls of Beirut....The way it was.

These two photos are taken from Maria Chakhtoura's seminal book "La guerre des graffitis" (Annahar 1978 - republished 2005). I am rather very proud that between her book and my own "Archewallogy" there was simply NO archiving whatsoever about what was going on on the walls of Beirut. The two photos shown above are two posters drawn by Eric Ghorayeb and feature french comic hero (or rather anti-here) Gaston Lagaffe doing what he does best (or worst).... And yet getting the preventive message across on all accounts.
