For a long time I have been a fan of Australian photographer Tracey Moffatt, and her sports series "Fourth" examines what it is to miss the podium by fractions of a second. Naturally, with the Olympics in Sochi right now so many more athletes are experiencing this sorrow even as I write. I cannot but remember the song "on moment in time" as sang by the late Whitney Houston specifically the lyrics " I broke my heart/Fought every gain/To taste the sweet/I face the pain"... Fourth a series of pain.
