Now isn't this refreshing!... Finally some wonderful news about us and our south. I just read about Studio Soussi in Sidon and self-taught photographer Chafic Ahmad Soussi, and how he chornicled the evolution of "us et coutumes" of the Southerners and Sidon inhabitants, from glamourous women, to change of attire coinciding with more European fashion, to the usual cut outs, and even merchants and men wearing the traditional fez, or even state visits and local politicians. His grandson Alasdair Soussi has compiled a moving account of his life and times for all of us to appreciate.
