Defacing graffiti in Beirut

Now this is alarming! Someone has been defacing graffiti in Beirut - and by defacing I mean exactly that - taking faces off graffiti... At first I thought it was a crew war but sadly, the more I delved into this the more I realized that all graffiti works which have faces on them have been vandalized. I am not pointing fingers, but it is well known that according to some strict interpretations of Islam, no one is allowed to draw a face (or even take a photo of one) because on judgement day God will ask that person to breathe life into his/her "creation" just like God himself breathed life in Adam. Which makes the situation even more alarming if you ask me!

So Sad, but i heard another story from insiders in the graffiti scene, i knew that the faces were erased when Pope Benedict XVI visited Lebanon in September, maybe its another rumor...

I am open to all theories but it is alarming whatever the real reason is!

i was the first to tell the guys that MAY BE the reason was the visit of the Pope, plz don't rely on it coz i discovered that some guys at Beirut's municipality did it....(when i was stopped once by them)......
