"They don't make them like they used to..." Well sometimes that's for the better! I am sparing you the lecture about sexism in ads, about "la menagere de moins de 50 ans", about the bad influence of ads on women's self-image - but these ads done way, way back are far worse than being simply politically incorrect - by today's standards they are outright scandalous! But then only a few years ago did the "Babette"
ad emerge which shows that little has changed!
"Like a spirited woman who years to be tamed?" OMG OMG OMG - the body copy is just as shocking..but I have to admit it is written very well! Can you send me the source?..These are too much! Thanks for sharing!
Mr.Chemaly these ads are politically incorrect indeed, but all the "beautifully redone" lebanese ladies in the ads, on tv, in video clips and in magazines, are still sexist and incorrect :) so I prefer to be a good cook rather than being half naked in an ad and reclaiming my rights for jewelery.
