The above is indeed, the first image treated on photoshop, and it depicts Jennifer (then girlfriend and he proposed to her later that day and is now) wife of John Knoll - currently CCO (Chief Creative Officer) of Industrial Light and Magic. He is also a co-creator of Photoshop (which brought us Haifa in Hell later, but that's a different story), and you can see early demos of Photoshop recreated on this Youtube link.
