So Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan have reunited on stage... Wait, Jason... Who? Yes, for those of you living today, the name means zilch, and yet - in his heyday Smash Hits magazine (which I morphed into Smash NTSC) said at the time "maybe unlike he is female counter part he is made to last". The female counterpart? None other than Kylie Herself, the "impossible princess" who reinvented herself about a gazillion times, including now being a judge in the "X Factor" (while boosting its viewership in the process).
Not only this, when she was diagnosed with cancer, the fact that she came forward to the public with the info skyrocketed the number of women who got tested in Australia in the aftermath. She is also responsible of one of the songs deemed in the top three of "earworms" of all time (or songs that keep repeating themselves on loop in your brain) with "Can't get you out of my head" (fitting title for an "earworm").
In the meantime, Mr. Donovan has fallen off the stardom wagon - or at least the mainstream wagon - which is why his name doesn't resonate with the public any longer, and now they reunited on stage for "sports relief".
Bottom line, a lot of things change in 25 years.
But forever, she will be Charlene and he will be Scott "... And that's when neighbors become good friends"
