Throne Thrown by Tarek Chemaly now out on 7UPstairs Publishing

Based on the idea that the chair is a “throne”, the project explores the end of chairs (Or sofas) which once occupied the center stage in the house and were the most prestigious pieces of furniture in the house. It documents various chairs (Or sofas), not just as they were discarded but specifically thrown inside dumpsters before the garbage truck came by to pick them up (Sometimes just as the truck was picking them up!) In itself the project deals with the loss of dignity, the riches to rags story and the life cycle of everything in life – specifically anything “prestigious.” Implicitly one can start a “revolution” simply by throwing a throne.
